Candidate nomination packages for the 2020 local By-Election will be available from the Village office January 6, 2020. Please call 250-934-6344 for more information.

The Village of Tahsis will be electing one Councillor.

Nomination Period 2020

Nomination documents must be delivered to the Village Office (977 S Maquinna) between 9:00am Tuesday, January 7, 2020 and 4pm Friday, January 17, 2020 during regular business hours. Nomination documents will be received by the Chief Election Officer, or designate.

Tahsis Council

Tahsis Council consists of a mayor and four councillors. The original term of office is four years.

Meetings

Council meetings are typically held the first and third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm.

Other special and committee meetings occur throughout the year as required or set by the mayor, council or the corporate officer.

Council members may also be appointed to represent council on other local and regional boards and attend various community events throughout the year.

Strathcona Regional District Appointments

Tahsis appoints one representative and an alternate to serve on the SRD board and related committees, including the Comox Strathcona Solid Waste Management Board and Comox Strathcona Regional Hospital District Board.

Village of Tahsis Corporate Structure

The chief administrative officer reports to the mayor and councillors, and oversees areas of the administration, finance, land use planning and development services, policy and by-law development, building inspection, fire, public works (including building maintenance, roads, water and sewer systems), and parks and recreation.
