Tahsis Tourist Information Centre and Museum Upgrade Project
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
In March 2023, the Village received $497,479 from the Province under the Rural Economic Development and Infrastructure Program (REDIP) for the “Tahsis Tourist Centre Upgrade Project”. The project is intended to:
- Extend the useful life of the building
- Enhance visitors’ experience and service by making the building more accessible and inclusive
- Create space which could be used by local artisans, businesses and Indigenous artists
The project is proceeding in 2 phases.
- Phase 1 – improving exterior and interior accessibility and augmenting the existing building structure
- Phase 2 – interior space refresh including creating space for broader community use.
Tahsis residents and stakeholders are invited to comment on the plans by email:reception@villageoftahsis.com. Please use “Tourist Centre Plans” in the subject line.
